Hey Crew! Welcome to Uncracked, a company we believe will make a HUGE splash in the future of food tech. Why do we think that? For many reasons, but one being the core values that we defined for our internal operations and external relations. If you don’t already know, Uncracked is a food technology company harnessing the functional power of ocean-derived superfoods for application in the food and beverage industry. We are developing our SeaStack tech both for the health of humans as well as our oceans. We hope that you will join us on this journey!
So let’s dive in. We have 5 core values that guide everything we do, from meetings to decision-making, and partnerships to product development.
Core value #1: From the Ocean, For the Ocean
If it isn’t obvious already, here at Uncracked, we love the sea. We love the way it sounds, looks, feels, and most importantly, what it contains–so much untapped SUPERFOOD! Algae and seaweeds are not just delicious, nutrient-dense aquatic plants, but they actually have magic powers. They capture carbon through the process of photosynthesis and release oxygen in return. Similar to how land plants do so, but at a much. faster. rate. The current food we derive from the ocean through commercial fishing is destroying biodiversity and disrupting ecosystem function. At Uncracked, our technology starts with the ocean, for the ultimate benefit of the ocean.
Core value #2: Simple + Clean
One of the strongest motivators for the Uncracked team to start this journey, was to deliver higher quality products, with high quality, real ingredients. We are constantly evaluating what is on the market, and unfortunately, so many products have dozens of unnatural ingredients and go through many rounds of processing to make it to the store (and allow it to stay there for a long time). You may or may not have heard this new term ‘clean’ come up recently in the food and nutrition world. No, it doesn’t mean scrubbing your tomatoes after the farmers market, rather a multitude of requisites. Clean eating is a focus on whole foods, minimal processing, free of artificial additives, nutrient density and sustainable considerations. Every ingredient that we work with or new process we present goes through careful assessment of whether or not it meets these metrics.
Core value #3: Keeping it Real
At Uncracked, we keep it real. No, not like the Housewives, but real in how we interact with each other and how we collaborate with our supporters. There is often a large gap between brand and consumer, and here at Uncracked we want to make that gap as small as possible. At the end of the day, we are all real people! In a rapidly evolving world where artificial intelligence is encroaching on our lives, we want to remind everyone that here at Uncracked we are real people that want to have real conversations about what we are eating and how it’s made.
‘Keeping it real” comes to fruition in many different ways. The biggest is communication. Internally, we prioritize open communication across the team. Externally, we make an effort to have clear communication with consumers and partners.
Core Value #4: Efficiency by Design
Don’t you hate when there are too many cooks in the kitchen? Yep, us too. Well, in our food biz, we’ve taken that to heart in the best way possible with our core value: Efficiency by Design. To uphold our commitment to sustainability, we are designing our processes to be as efficient as possible. Not only to share with you the greatness of Uncracked sooner, but to reduce waste in the meantime. We're on a mission to make your eating experience a delightfully eco-friendly escapade, where each bite tells a story of innovation, care, and a cheeky wink to Mother Nature. At Uncracked, we prioritize having the right amount of cooks (team members) while optimizing our use of resources.
Core Value #5: Food is Fun!
Core value 5 is arguably the most important out of all of our values.- a value that has never changed as we set out to establish our 5 drivers of success. We’re all about bringing the fun back to food. Not only bright colors and funky graphics on the packaging (although that is important) we mean food that will fuel you for a night out with your friends. Food that you are excited to share at your next dinner party. Food that brings generations together and can be incorporated into your favorite recipes to make with your family. Food that your phone will definitely be eating first ;).
