About the Recipe

Enjoy a creamy, velvety hot chocolate made with real cocoa, your choice of chocolate (dark, semisweet, or milk), and a subtle hint of sea moss gel for an extra layer of smoothness and thickness. Sweeten it to your liking, add a dash of cinnamon for a spicy twist, and savor every comforting sip of this upgraded classic.

Ingredients

1 cup of milk of choice

1-2 tbsp sea moss gel

1 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)

150 g chocolate, (dark, semisweet or milk chocolate, as you prefer), chopped

1-2 tsp maple syrup, honey, or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Preparation

  1. Pour the milk in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  2. Once heated, add the seamoss gel, cocoa powder, chocolate, sweetener, and vanilla

  3. Whisk until the chocolate is melted, about 1 minute, until the mixture thickens.

  4. For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon and salt and whisk well.

  5. Divide the hot chocolate into small cups (it's very rich!). Serve with a spoonful of whipped cream on top, if you like.
